Smart Technology Advisor

Are you passionate about how the use of technology in the home can make it a better place to live? Do you love to experiment with the latest Smart Home gadgets? Are you curious about how they work and how we can make it easy for our customers to understand what they need?

We are looking to recruit a Smart Technology Advisor to provide quality customer service and thorough technical knowledge in our 5000sq/ft Smart Home Superstore.

This is a fantastic opportunity to expand your knowledge of new technologies such as Home Automation, Cinema Rooms, Smart Lighting, Gaming Room technologies, and Modern Security Systems, as they arrive on the market; and enable you to demonstrate your passion for the ever-growing smart technology market.

If you are a dynamic, self-starter who is curious and passionate about Smart Home gadgets then this could be the role for you!

Full training in the role will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • To show enthusiasm and appetite for new smart technologies.
  • Customers will be able to browse the latest Smart Home technology and you will act as a liaison by demonstrating strong product knowledge and being able to articulate this to members of the public and trade.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner, whilst developing relationships with new and existing customers both public and trade.
  • Deliver high levels of customer service.
  • Accurately ascertain customers’ needs and recommend products and solutions.
  • Confidently and enthusiastically able to demonstrate how products function and benefit customers.
  • Able to use personal experience and ongoing training to increase the knowledge base and keep up to date with product information.
  • Processing sales through our in-house EPOS systems.
  • Following up on customer leads and quotations.
  • Ensure stock profile remains accurate through inventory management.
  • Updating in-store displays.
  • General housekeeping duties.
  • Administration duties, including processing orders through Sage (not limited to).
  • Maintain a safe working environment by following the company health & safety policy and adhering to company policies.


  • High level of enthusiasm for working with the latest technology.
  • A knowledge of working with smart home technology is preferred, however, training will be provided.
  • Good understanding of IT systems and networking is preferred but not essential.
  • GCSEs in both Maths and English.
  • Strong interpersonal and communicative skills.
  • Have a pleasant, helpful outlook, be well spoken with a smart presentable appearance.
  • Previous sales experience would be beneficial.
  • Building strong relationship skills and pride yourself in your ability to deliver excellent customer service.

Reporting to: Shopfloor Supervisor & Technical Sales Manager


Salary: National minimum/living wage.


Hours of Work: Full time or part time, will include weekend work.

Technical Access Control & Automation Apprentice

We are looking to recruit a confident apprentice working towards a level 2/3 Electrical Installation qualification, to work at our West Midlands Offices to provide telephone and online sales support on Gate & Garage Automation, Access Control and Home Automation. Reporting to the Technical Sales Manager.

The successful candidate will be observing, learning, and understanding a wide range of automation & access control products whilst under the supervision of a skilled technical team.

The successful candidate must possess the following essential skills:

  • The candidate must have a pleasant, helpful outlook, be well spoken with a smart, presentable appearance.
  • Good administration and PC skills are essential.
  • Basic knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Attention to detail must be excellent and able to work on their own initiative as well as work as part of a team.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Well organized and able to multitask.
  • Good phone manner.
  • Already working towards a level 2/3 Electrical Installation qualification.

Salary: National apprenticeship wage


Hours of Work: Full time, Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm (one day college release if applicable).
