Introducing The FIBARO KeyFob, a six button remote control for Z-Wave devices . The remote can run prefabricated scenes or control individual devices, each button responds to a ‘hold’ press, ‘one, two and three’ clicks and six ‘sequences’ allowing for a 30 possibilities when it comes to programming. The remote helps keep smart home automation simple, ergonomic and personal. Phone battery dead? Good job you have the remote with you, the device can be kept as an emergency backup if your primary method of access is out of service.
Designed with comfort in mind
The remotes design has been carefully constructed to fit ergonomically in the palm of your hand, whilst being compact enough to fit into your pocket or hooked on your keychain. The raised buttons allow for intuitive use even with poor visibility.
The remote can be assigned a pin code to lock the remote, protecting you from pocket clicks or unauthorised use.

FIBARO KeyFob is a Z-Wave Plus compatible, battery-powered, compact remote control designed to control other Z-Wave devices and run various scenes defined in FIBARO System. The KeyFob is equipped with 6 buttons.
How many actions can you perform with one KeyFob?
With FIBARO KeyFob you can perform 30 different actions, single/double/triple click, hold for each button and sequences.
How is the KeyFob powered?
KeyFob can be powered with CR2450 battery. Battery is included with the device.
How long does the battery last?
Estimated battery life with device added once, default settings, direct range and maximum 5 pushes per day is 2 years.
How can I wake up the KeyFob?
Click and simultaneously to wake up the device. The KeyFob needs to be woken up to receive information about the new configuration from the Z-Wave controller, like parameters and associations.
How many devices can be controlled by FIBARO KeyFob?
You can control as many devices as you want using scenes, which can be assigned to 30 different KeyFob’s actions.
What types of devices can be controlled by the KeyFob?
With FIBARO KeyFob you can control most devices using scenes and associations (only Z-Wave devices).
How can I protect the KeyFob from unauthorized use?
You can set a sequence of 2 to 5 button clicks to protect the KeyFob. Device can lock itself either after a set time or after holding selected button.
How can I enable Lock Mode?
Set unlocking sequence (via HC interface or parameter 1) and set time and/or locking button (via HC interface or parameter 2).
How can I disable Lock Mode?
You can disable Lock Mode via HC interface or by setting parameter 1 and/or parameter 2 to 0.
What is auto-lock time?
To auto-lock the device, it has to be inactive for set time (60 seconds by default), if Lock Mode is enabled.
Where can I change parameters of the KeyFob?
Parameters can be changed after logging to your Home Center interface in Devices section. Find your KeyFob on the list and click the Advanced tab.
What is a sequence?
Sequence is a combination of two to five button which expands number of possible actions by activating scenes.
What requirements must be met by sequences?
There are a few rules of creating sequences:
- Maximum of six sequences can be created.
- Each sequence must be unique.
- Sequence can consist of two to five button pushes.
- Sequence can contain multiple clicks of the same button.
- Sequences cannot be used to activate associations
What is the range of the KeyFob?
The range of FIBARO KeyFob is highly dependent on terrain and building structure and is up to 50m outdoors and up to 40m indoors.
How can I reset the KeyFob?
There a two ways of resetting the device.
You can do it through the menu:
- Click and simultaneously.
- Click or until LED glows yellow.
- Click .
You can also perform emergency reset on start-up:
- Remove the battery.
- Hold and , while inserting the battery.
Can I connect many FIBARO KeyFobs to one Z-Wave network/one Home Center?
Yes, it is possible.
How to open the KeyFobs and change the battery?
Open the battery cover by turning it counter-clockwise. You can use included keyring or a coin to do it.
Can the KeyFob be used as a remote for an external entry gate?
Gate can be controlled via scene if devices are in range of the network or via Z-Wave association in direct range.
My new KeyFob is not working. What should I do?
Make sure you tear off the stickers from battery and it is properly polarized (+ on the top).
I cannot add the KeyFob to the Z-Wave network. What should I do?
Make sure the device is powered and in range of the gateway. You can also reset the device before the next try.
The KeyFob flashes 3 times in magenta/pink. What does it mean?
It means battery is low, we recommend replacing it.
