Somfy TaHoma

With the TaHoma By Somfy skill and Alexa, you can now interact with your TaHoma by voice. To get started, select the 'Enable Skill' button in the Alexa App to link your Somfy account and discover your scenes. With the skill you can:

When using the skill, you need established names for your scenes. You can use the names you already set up. These are shown in the TaHoma By Somfy app or in the TaHoma web portal and can be changed.

Once you know the name of your scenes, you can say for example:

  • "Alexa, turn on Good Morning."
  • "Alexa, turn on Everything Up."
  • “Alexa, turn on Bedtime.”

Somfy Protect

Thanks to the Somfy Protect Skill, you are now able to control your Somfy One, Somfy Home Alarm and Somfy Security Camera using your voice. Everything is secured with the passcode that you set, there’s no risk of your child disarming the alarm.

With the skill you can:

  • Arm and disarm the alarm.
  • Enable the night mode.
  • Open and close your Somfy One or Security Camera shutter.
  • Have a quick summary of the daily events or the weekly events.

In order to use Somfy Protect with Alexa, you’ll need:

Google Assistant

With Google Assistant you can use your voice to control the connected equipment you have configured in the TaHoma and Connexoon apps.

  • At home, with Google's connected speakers: Google Home and other speakers that offer Google Assistant.
  • On the move, with your smartphone or compatible Android and iOS tablet.

What can I ask Google?

Thanks to the compatibility between Google Assistant and Somfy, you can use your voice to:

  • Launch a scenario created in the TaHoma app
  • Control an item of equipment using the name you give it in the TaHoma app
  • Control a group of equipment

How Does it work?

  1. Say « Ok Google » to wake up the voice assistant.
  2. Say the trigger words « activate », « switch on », « open » or any other action verb which corresponds to the product in question.
  3. Say the name of the scenario, the equipement as you named it in TaHoma, or the group of equipementyou want to launch.

For example: "Okay Google, switch on all the lights"

IFTTT

IFTTT is an english acronym which stands for "If This Then That", meaning "If this happens", then "do that". After uploading IFTTT app, users are invited to create simple scenario, called “recipes,” where an event in one device or service automatically triggers an action in another.

❝For example if I say “Ok Google, Bed time” to the Google assistant, TaHoma closes all my shutters and garage door, switches the thermostat onto night mode, turns off the lights and activates the alarm.❞

Thanks to IFTTT, TaHoma enhances the smart home experience: Netatmo weather station, Bosch Connected Appliances, Google Assistant, and much more. IFTTT is a free app and web interface for automated interactions between two connected devices or services outside the SOMFY ecosystem.

This platform allows you to create automatisms between TaHoma scenarios and other brands compatible with the IFTTT, free of charge! Thousands of options to add to your smart home experience!

(The Connexoon RTS can be connected to IFTTT by via Google Assistant. Amazon Alexa can be connected via IFTTT. This is not officially supported by Somfy in the UK, only attempt this if you are confident with smart technology. Connect devices at your own risk.)

When you pair Philips Hue with the Somfy TaHoma®, you'll be able to see how your Philips Hue lights can react to a Somfy light sensor or motion detector, turning on automatically when you arrive or when it becomes dark. Or, for a pleasant environment in the house or on your terrace, construct a scenario with your Hue lights and your Somfy Smart Home applications for blinds or awnings.

Play the song of your choice in each room, or the same song in all of them. You can fill your house with music via Sonos and Somfy, and blend your music or favourite radio station with a scenario and life moments encoded into TaHoma.

All Sonos speakers are compatible with the Tahoma interface, which uses your "favourites" list from the Sonos app. The Sonos system is integrated into the TAHOMA platform, and the speakers are identified in specific rooms or groups of rooms in TAHOMA, reflecting any changes made in the Sonos app.

Somfy created the TaHoma® interface, which controls Hitachi heat pumps and adapts them to work with other home devices. From the app, the user may effortlessly control the heat pump. The user configures the weekly routine by selecting the operation mode (heating, air conditioning, or absence) and temperature settings.

Maco

Using an Enocean dongle the Maco mTRONIC window sensor can communicate with the TaHoma® system. The Maco mTRONIC window sensor will independently monitor and detect when windows have been forced open. With the two systems communicating the TaHoma® system can send you alerts if the sensor detects a break-in. Creating TaHoma® Scenarios you can also simulate your presence, activating the lighting in your home when triggered.

KFV

By connecting KFV motorised doorlocks to your TaHoma®, you can open the front door remotely, when someone eventually forgets their keys. Monitor the locks to ensure they are closed when you are away from home, or just to save you the trip from bed.

Hoppe

The Hoppe handle, fitted with a smart sensor, allows you to check if the windows or patio door are open or closed. With TaHoma®, you can simply adjust your heating and position of your shutters based on the status of the windows in your home.

It is now possible to control and monitor entry doors, sliding doors, and windows with the Somfy GU Controller io, a joint solution from GU and Somfy. The GU Controller io also allows the GU-SECURY automated multiple locking device to be connected to the Gretsch-Unitas group motor drive in TaHoma® via the Gretsch-Unitas group motor drive. You can always be sure that your front door is properly locked thanks to the closure monitoring and feedback functions. As a result, you may not only open and close your door, but also keep an eye on it from afar. You feel a sense of security and ease.

The Bricard and Somfy connected doorlock

Bricard

The Bricard x Somfy connected doorlock, combines the Bricard lock and cylinder powered by a Somfy motor. The lock is certified A2P, a guarantee of security a quality recognised by security professionals. Using the TaHoma® interface, you can control Bricard connected doorlocks. The user can open or close their door easily from the app, and even add it to scenarios.
